Weekly Portfolio Performance Chart

Equity Markets:

For the week, Indian stock markets were risk-off and headline-driven, with broad weakness led by crude, geopolitics, rupee pressure, and foreign outflows, while domestic buying and defensive sectors limited the damage.

Key Market Triggers

  • Geopolitical risk, especially Middle East tension, kept oil and risk appetite unstable.
  • Crude oil near elevated levels raised inflation and fiscal concerns.
  • Rupee weakness added pressure to import-heavy and foreign-borrowing-linked sectors.
  • FII selling remained a drag, partly offset by DII buying.
  • Defensive sectors outperformed relative to cyclicals, showing a classic risk-off market pattern.
