The Nifty Indices have been highly volatile this week amid the union budget and Adani stocks' freefall. On budget day Nifty we have seen 800 points movement in the Nifty Index. Adani group has called off the FPO and stocks continued to remain on a downward trajectory.
Weekly recap:
Bank Nifty Index and the Nifty IT Index have outperformed the Nifty Index.
Nifty Midcap 100 Index is up +0.45 percent.
The nifty index on the other hand was volatile and we saw positive movement.
This week, the Nifty index is up +1.42 percent.

This week, Model 1 is up +1.28 percent, and Model 3 is up +1.78 percent.
Model 1 has underperformed the Index by -0.14 percent and Model 3 has outperformed the Index by +1.33 percent.

The Long-Short strategy for the Nifty Index has returned a negative result of -9.43 percent this week.

In January 2023, Models 1, and 3 returned -8.49 percent, and -6.40 percent respectively, compared to the Nifty 50 Index's -2.45 percent return.
In January 2023, the Nifty Long-Short is down -2.41 percent.
For the year 2022 (1st January 2022 - 30 December 2021), Model 1, 3, and Nifty Long-Short returned -17.87%, -3.31%, and +31.43%, respectively, compared to the Nifty 50 Index's return of +4.27%.
Year To Date - 2023
Models 1, and 3 returned -9.01 percent, and -6.81 percent respectively, compared to Nifty's -1.39 percent return for the year 2023.
The Nifty Long-Short year-to-date return (from January 1, 2023) is now -9.95 percent, compared to the Index's -1.39 percent.
From July 12th, 2021, the Model 3 is up +9%, compared to 10% for the Nifty Midcap Index.
Summary since inception
Since its debut, Model 1 has increased by 105 percent. The Nifty index has increased by 65 percent over the same time span.
Since its debut, the Nifty long-short strategy has returned 108 percent on capital and 200 percent on margin money.
Model 1 has been operational since July 13, 2020, whereas the Index Long-Short strategy has been operational since August 14, 2020. Model 3 has been operational since July 12, 2021.
