This week was eventful as RBI has increased the policy rate by 50 bps. The Nifty index remained range-bound for the entire week. At the end of the week, the Nifty index stayed in a downtrend.

This week, the Nifty index is down by -2.44 percent.

Model 1, Model 2 & Model 3

This week, Models 1 & 2 are down -0.11 percent, & -0.45 percent respectively and Model 3 is up +0.03 percent.

Models 1,2 and 3 have outperformed the Index by +2.33 percent, +1.99 percent, and +2.47 percent respectively.

Nifty Long-Short

The Long-Short strategy for the Nifty Index has returned a positive result of +0.98 percent this week.

Next Week Update

The Nifty Long-Short Strategy's current position is Short. For the next week, Models 2, and 3  will have an approx 40% stock allocation and Model 1 will have an approx 30% stock allocation.

In May 2022, Models 1, 2, and 3 returned -11.73 percent, -7.77 percent, and -5.18 percent, respectively, compared to the Nifty 50 Index's -3.03 percent return.

In May 2022, the Nifty Long-Short has acquired some traction and is down -10.91 percent.

For the year 2021 (1st January 2021 - 31 December 2021), Model 1, 2, and Nifty Long-Short returned +86%, 33%, and 5.95%, respectively, compared to the Nifty 50 Index's return of +24%.

Year To Date - 2022

Models 1, 2, and 3 returned -19.40 percent, -19.21 percent, and -10.69 percent, respectively, compared to Nifty's -6.69 percent return for the year 2022.

The Nifty Long-Short year-to-date return (as of January 1, 2022) is now +1.76 percent, compared to the Index's -6.69 percent.

From July 12th, 2021, the Model 3 is up +8%, compared to 0% for the Nifty Midcap Index.

Summary since inception 

Since their debut, Model 1 and 2 have increased by 121 percent and 47 percent, respectively. The Nifty index has increased by 50 percent over the same time span.

Since its debut, the Nifty long-short strategy has returned 79 percent on capital and 146 percent on margin money.

Models 1 and 2 have been operational since July 13, 2020, whereas the Index Long-Short strategy has been operational since August 14, 2020. Model 3 has been operational since July 12, 2021.
