This week the Nifty Index is down by -4.16%. This week we witnessed extreme volatility and correction for a long in this bull market. The Nifty Index remained bearish for this week and correct 3% on Friday amid the new Covid variant news, which spooked the global markets. The broader market is now in a downtrend.
The Nifty Index hit 16987.15 on the lower side and hit 17805.25 on the upper side and ended at 17026.45.
Model 1, Model 2 & Model 3
Model 1 is up +4.84% and Model 2 & 3 are down by -4.74% and -7.18% respectively this week.
Model 1 has performed exceptionally in this volatile time. It has outperformed the Index by +9%.
Model 2,3 have underperformed the Index by -0.58% and -3.02% respectively.
Models 1 has hit the all-time high mark this week.

Nifty Long-Short
The Nifty Index Long-Short strategy has ended up in green by a hair at +0.03%.
Next Week Update
We are liquidating all the positions in Model 1&2. We are selling 9 stocks in Model 1 and 10 stocks in Model 2. We will be holding cash position until the market comes back into an uptrend.
There are 5 changes for Model 3 next week.
The current position for the Nifty Long-Short Strategy is Short.
Long term Performance Summary
October 2021 Summary
Model 1, 2 & 3 have clocked -0.87%, -6.81% and 1.08% return respectively in Oct 2021 compared to 0.30% return in the Nifty 50 Index.
Nifty Long-Short has gained momentum and is up 17.62% in Oct 2021.
Year To Date - 2021
Both Model 1 & 2 have outperformed the Nifty in YTD 2021. Model 1 & 2 each gave a return of 82.12% & 36.51% respectively vs. Nifty's return of 21.78% YTD.
Nifty Long-Short year-to-date (From 1st Jan 2021) return is now below the index with 5.23% (10% on Margin money) as compared to the 21.78% of the Index.
Model 3 is up 20% compared to 9% of the Nifty Midcap Index from 12th July 2021.
Summary since inception
Model 1 and 2 are up 170% and 87% respectively from inception. For the same period, the Nifty Index is up 58%.
The Nifty long-Short strategy is up 75% since inception and 139% on the margin money since inception.
Model 1 and Model 2 both are live from 13th July 2020 while the Index Long-Short strategy has been live from 14th August 2020. Model 3 is live from 12th July 2021.
