This week, Nifty is up by +1.52%. This week was a volatile one. The start of the week was pretty much bearish due to global factors. Every day moves on the Nifty was sharp and there was a gap up and gap down opening for each day. The Nifty index remained in an uptrend at the end of the week.

The Nifty Index hit 17326.10 on the lower side and hit 17947.45 on the upper side and ended at 17841.55.

Model 1 & Model 2

Model 1 & 2 are down 1.42% and 1.02% respectively this week. Model 1 & 2 have underperformed the index by 2.94% and 2.54% respectively.

Nifty Long-Short

The Nifty Index Long-Short strategy has ended up in red by 0.82%.

Next Week Update

There is no change for Model 1 and Model 2 for the next week. 

The current position for the Nifty Long-Short Strategy is Long.

Long term Performance Summary

Model 1 & 2 have clocked 2.17% and 0.61% return in August 2021 compared to 8.69% return in the Nifty 50 Index.

Nifty Long-Short has gained momentum and captured most of the index up move and up 11.69% in August 2021.

Both Model 1 & 2 have outperformed the NIFTY in YTD 2021. Model 1 & 2 each gave a return of 59.02% & 53.81% respectively vs Nifty's return of 27.69% YTD.

Nifty Long-Short is now recovering after witnessing the severe whipsaw in the last 2 months. Its year-to-date (From 1st Jan 2021) return is now below the index with 1.45% as compared to the 27.69% of the Index.

Model 1 and Model 2 both are live from 13th July 2020 while the Index Long-Short strategy has been live from 14th August 2020.

Model 1 and 2 are up 135.14% and 110.23% respectively from inception. For the same period, the Nifty Index is up 65.27%. Both the Models have hit the all-time high mark this week.

The Nifty long-Short strategy is up 68.56% and 127% on the margin money.
