Weekly Portfolio Performance Chart

Equity Markets:

The week was defined by extreme volatility, acting as a "tale of two markets." It opened with a severe gap-down on Monday due to escalating geopolitical fears, but concluded with one of the most explosive single-day rallies of the year on Friday following a major geopolitical de-escalation.

Key Market Triggers

  • Geopolitical & Crude Reversal: Markets tanked early on as oil spiked past $96.50 due to Middle East tensions, but violently reversed into an explosive rally Friday after a diplomatic resolution crashed crude down to $86.80.
  • Domestic Policy Support: The RBI's steady repo rate at 5.25% with a dovish outlook provided a solid fundamental floor, effectively insulating Indian rate-sensitive sectors during early-week global panic.
  • US Inflation Data: Global anxieties were cooled mid-week after the US core CPI came in softer than expected at 0.2%, easing immediate fears of prolonged high interest rates from the Federal Reserve.
