Weekly Portfolio Performance Chart

Equity Markets:

The equity markets staged a decisive bullish recovery this week, extending their rebound after snapping an eight-week losing streak in the prior week. Despite starting Monday on a lower note, strong buying across Information Technology and Banking heavyweights propelled the frontline indices to massive gains on Tuesday and Thursday, ultimately pushing the Nifty 50 firmly back above the 23,100 mark by Friday's close.

Key Market Triggers

  • Upbeat Q2 IT Earnings & Tech Rally: The Information Technology sector served as the primary engine for the market's rally. Strong Q2 FY27 results and record deal bookings from HCLTech early in the week, followed by an upbeat earnings report from Tech Mahindra (which surged over 8.4% on Friday), fueled sustained institutional buying across TCS, Infosys, and the broader tech pack.
  • Rupee Appreciation & RBI Intervention: The Indian Rupee staged a sharp five-session winning streak against the US dollar, supported by active Reserve Bank of India (RBI) measures to stabilize the currency. Additionally, positive commentary from the Finance Minister regarding currency stability, LTCG, and STT helped bolster domestic investor confidence.
  • Cooling Crude Oil & Global Bond Yields: International crude oil prices softened during the week—partly aided by the temporary relaxation of US restrictions on Russian diesel supplies—while global bond yields cooled off. This combination eased immediate inflation and import-bill anxieties, providing a supportive global backdrop for domestic equities.
