Weekly Portfolio Performance Chart

Equity Markets:
The Indian stock market experienced a challenging week marked by persistent selling pressure and volatility amid escalating trade tensions with the United States. Both benchmark indices witnessed their sixth consecutive week of decline, representing the longest losing streak in over two years.
The most significant development was US President Donald Trump's announcement of additional 25% tariffs on Indian goods, bringing the total tariff rate to 50%. This punitive measure, citing India's continued purchase of Russian oil, created substantial uncertainty across export-oriented sectors.
The escalating tariff dispute threatens India's $87 billion worth of exports to the US, equivalent to 2.5% of India's GDP. Key vulnerable sectors include textiles, gems & jewelry, leather goods, and auto components, which collectively represent 55% of India's US-bound exports
Notable Events
- RBI has kept the repo rate unchanged at 4.5% on 6th August meeting. RBI has lowered the CPI inflation forecast to 3.1% from 3.7% earlier for FY 25-26
Global Events:
- The US Q2 GDP growth comes at 3%, which is higher than expected. The Fed has kept the policy rate unchanged to 4.25% to 4.5%.
- Unemployment rate stood at 4.2% for July. Overall, the labor market is weakening with notable downward revisions and slow employment growth, under the influence of trade and immigration policies and broader economic factors like inflation and slower domestic demand
