This week we have seen extreme volatile movement in the Nifty Index and the Index crossed 23900 mark and closed above it. This week started with down trend on back of geopolitical tension between Russia & Ukraine and ended with positive trend on back of expected good election result. On Friday the Nifty rallied more than 500 points even after negative news on Adani group on Thursday. Market is expecting that NDA will come to power in both Maharashtra & Jharkhand with Majority. The election was held on 20th November and result is due on 23rd November. FIIs are selling continuously since October 2024. The Nifty Index is now down 9% from the recent high of 26272. The CPI inflation rate in India increased massively from 5.49% in September to 6.21% in October mainly due to the higher food price. RBI kept the repo rate unchanged at 6.5%. October 2024 saw 1.87 lakh crore in GST collected, a 8.2% YoY increase. US inflation increased to 2.6% in October compared to 2.4% in September.

Nifty closed below the 20 EMA & 50 DMA and above 200 DMA suggesting short term down trend in the Nifty Index. The Nifty Index has taken the support at 200 DMA and managed to close above it on closing basis.

This week, Model 1 is down -0.15 percent and Model 3 is up +1.02 percent.
Model 1 has underperformed the Index by -1.74 percent and Model 3 has underperformed the Index by -0.78 percent respectively.

In October 2024, Models 1 and 3 returned -9.80 percent, and -6.95 percent respectively, compared to the Nifty 50 Index's -6.22 percent return.
In October 2024, the Nifty Long-Short is up +12.87 percent.
For the Financial year 2023 - 2024 (1st April 2023 - 31st March 2024), Model 1, 3, and Nifty Long-Short returned +86.48%, +82.78%, and +36.20%, respectively, compared to the Nifty 50 Index's return of +28.61%.

Model 1 has been operational since July 13, 2020, whereas the Index Long-Short strategy has been operational since August 14, 2020. Model 3 has been operating since July 12, 2021.
