With the resolution of the Middle East issue between Iran and Israel, world markets have rebounded. However, the US Q1 GDP estimate, which was released on Thursday, came in much lower than expected at 1.6%. The US appears to be experiencing sticky inflation and stagflation based on the low print of Q1 GDP. The Fed is in a difficult situation right now. It is now worthwhile to monitor the Fed's actions this year in regards to rate cuts. This week, the Nifty Index showed upward movement and closed at roughly 22,400. The US inflation increased to 3.5% in March from 3.2% in February, which is above the expectation. Due to higher inflation and not so encouraging inflation outlook global market spooked. India's Q3 2023 GDP growth rate of 8.4% exceeds the consensus forecast of 6.6%. India's CPI inflation rate cooled to 4.85% in March from 5.09% in February. In its April 2024 policy meeting, the RBI held the repo rate unchanged at 6.5%.
