Finally, FY 2023–2024 ends on a high note. For this fiscal year, the Nifty is up 28.6%. Due to the Monday and Friday holidays, this week was shortened. The Nifty Index had a significant rise this week, and the market reached an all-time high mark. With a positive outlook, the Nifty crossed above the 22500 mark and closed around it. India's Q3 2023 GDP growth rate of 8.4% exceeds the consensus forecast of 6.6%. India's CPI inflation rate cooled to 5.09% in February from 5.10% in January. In its February 2024 policy meeting, the RBI held the repo rate unchanged at 6.5%. The Fed has kept the policy rate unchanged in March meeting and signaled three rate cut for this year despite stickiness of the Inflation. On the rate cut news the US market hit all time high mark. The US CPI print for February is 3.2%, compared to 3.1% in January.

In March 2024Models 1 and 3 returned -7.12 percent, and -0.17 percent respectively, compared to the Nifty 50 Index's +1.57 percent return.

In March 2024, the Nifty Long-Short is up +5.02 percent.

For the Financial year 2023 - 2024 (1st April 2023 - 31st March  2024), Model 1, 3, and Nifty Long-Short returned +86.48%+82.78%, and +36.20%, respectively, compared to the Nifty 50 Index's return of +28.61%.

Year To Date - 2024


Models 1, and 3 returned +8.12 percent, and +9.21 percent respectively, compared to Nifty's +2.74 percent return for 2024.

The Nifty Long-Short year-to-date return (from January 1, 2023) is now -10.78 percent, compared to the Index's +2.74 percent.


From July 12th, 2021, the Model 3 is up +89%, compared to 75% for the Nifty Midcap Index.

Summary since inception 

Since its debut, Model 1 has increased by 244 percent. The Nifty index has risen by 107 percent over the same time span.

Since its debut, the Nifty long-short strategy has returned 172 percent on capital and 319 percent on margin money.

Model 1 has been operational since July 13, 2020, whereas the Index Long-Short strategy has been operational since August 14, 2020. Model 3 has been operating since July 12, 2021.
