Weekly Portfolio Performance Chart

Equity Markets:

The trading week of July 13–17, 2026, delivered extreme whiplash. A strong start fueled by domestic earnings was quickly derailed by geopolitical shocks, only for the market to claw back the majority of its losses by Friday.

Key Market Triggers

  • Information Technology: Emerged as the week's anchor. TCS's strong Q1 performance lifted the entire sector heading into the broader IT earnings season.
  • Banking & Financials: A mixed outcome. While HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, and Bajaj Finance posted healthy updates, Kotak Mahindra Bank lagged due to weaker deposit growth. Bank Nifty slightly underperformed the broader market but held critical support zones.
  • Commodities & Energy: Geopolitics hijacked the macro narrative. Escalations near the Strait of Hormuz drove oil prices up significantly, pressuring rate-sensitive and oil-dependent sectors like aviation and autos.
