This week, Nifty is down by -0.48%. Nifty witnessed whipsaw towards the end of the truncated week.

The Nifty Index hit 16377.10 on the lower side and hit 16701.85 on the upper side and ended at 16415.65

Model 1 & Model 2

Model 1 & 2 are down 2.37% and 3.79% respectively this week. Model 1 & 2 have underperformed the index by 1.89% and 3.31% respectively for the week. We have witnessed a sell-off in Small & Mid-cap stocks towards the end of the week due to fear of a taper tantrum by the FED.

Nifty Long-Short

The Nifty Index Long-Short strategy has ended up in red by 0.48%.

Next Week Update

There is no change for Model 1 & 2 for the next week. 

The current position for the Nifty Long-Short Strategy is Short.

Long term Performance Summary

Model 1 & 2 have clocked 10.24% and 9.50% return in June 2021 compared to 0.26% return in the Nifty 50 Index.

Nifty Long-Short continued the whipsaw for the Month of July and down around 15%.

Both Model 1 & 2 have outperformed the NIFTY in YTD 2021. Model 1 & 2 each gave a return of 42.81% & 42.82% respectively vs Nifty's return of 17.66% YTD.

Nifty Long-Short is witnessing the severe whipsaw after the initial two months of a strong trend for the current year. Its year-to-date (From 1st Jan 2021) return is now below the index with -7.17% as compared to the 17.66% of the Index.

Model 1 and Model 2 both are live from 13th July 2020 while the Index Long-Short strategy has been live from 14th August 2020.

Model 1 and 2 are up 111.16% and 95.21% respectively from inception. For the same period, the Nifty Index is up 52.28%.

The Nifty long-Short strategy is up around 54.25% and 100% on the margin money.
